CONSUMER FORUM is quasi-judicial authority framed under the law to safeguard the interest of the consumers. Doctors also falls under the preview of CPA (CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT) 1986. Hon’ble SUPREME COURT OF INDIA in its several landmark judgments has held the Doctors liable to pay exorbitant compensation to the patients in case of legal liability during the course of treatment.
